To speed up the innovative work of small and micro business start-ups and facilitate innovation-driven development, Shenzhen has introduced the "Regulations for Operation of Special Demonstration Subsidies for Intellectual Property Projects as Part of the Shenzhen Small and Micro Business Start-up Municipal Innovation Base (Provisional)" (hereinafter referred to as "regulations"). Small and micro businesses may gain access to four types of government grants, including funding for trademark registration, copyright registration of general works, patent insurance premiums, and intellectual property incubation bases and incubators for small and micro businesses.
As specified in the “regulations,” priority use of the special demonstration subsidies of the Shenzhen Small and Micro Business Start-up Municipal Innovation Base will be given to small and micro businesses that meet funding conditions of the “Shenzhen Intellectual Property Special Subsidies Administrative Measures."
Trademark registration subsidies are available to: Shenzhen small and micro businesses that received trademarks approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Office for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2016.
Subsidies for copyright registration of General works are targeted for those with works of literature, art, natural sciences, social sciences, engineering technologies and others protected under the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China.
Patent insurance subsidies are for: small and micro businesses in Shenzhen that purchase patent insurance from an insurance company of Shenzhen and the patent insurance has been filed with the municipal intellectual property authorities.
Subsidies for intellectual property incubation bases and incubators for small and micro businesses are offered to: high-tech parks, industrial parks, maker spaces, incubators and other incubator bases and incubators for small and micro businesses.
