A talented person chooses a patron of integrity. In Shenzhen, the number of full-time academicians such as Yu Dapeng has reached 20. In recent years, the numbers of talents attracted to Shenzhen and their quality have both been lifted significantly. Between 2012 and the end of the first half of 2017, the city attracted a total of 807,140 people, including 380,712 people with bachelor’s degrees, accounting for 47.17%; 83,696 people with graduate degrees and above, accounting for 10.37%; and 713,386 people aged 35 years of age or under, accounting for 88.38%. In regard to high-level talent, as of June 30, 2017, the cumulative number of high-level professionals was identified to be 6,523, including 28 outstanding talents, 285 national-level leading talent, 1801 regional leading talents, and 4409 backup level talents; the cumulative number of talents confirmed as part of the "Peacock Plan" has reached 2,449, of which, 156 are Class A, 568 are Class B, and 1,725 are Class C.

Between 2012 and the end of the first half of 2017, the city attracted a total of 807,140 people, of which 379,004 were recruited as students graduating in the current year, while 428,136 people were already in the workforce. The structure of academic backgrounds is as follows: 711,486 college-educated people, accounting for 88.15%; 380,712 people with undergraduate education, accounting for 47.17%; 83,696 people with graduate degrees and above, accounting for 10.37%; and 713,386 people aged 35 years or under, accounting for 88.38%.

As of June 30, 2017, the cumulative number of high-level professionals were identified as 6,523 people, including 28 outstanding talents, 285 national leading talents, 1,801 regional leading talents, and 4,409 backup level talents; 2,449 have been confirmed as "Peacock Plan" talents, including 156 Class A, 568 Class B, and 1725 Class C.
Rental subsidies issued to talents reaches more than RMB1.5 billion and RMB150 million in start-up secured business loans granted
Since the implementation of the tenancy subsidy policy in 2015, 247,881 applications have been lodged and reviewed with 218,415 issued for a total of RMB1.572942 billion. As of June 30, 2017, 2,070 start-up secured loans have been issued for a total of RMB149.992 million.
The impact of the talent policy is increasingly being felt
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Shenzhen has adopted a policy of innovation to break down the systemic barriers and promote the flow of talent from across all types of industries thick and fast, and encourage them to stay on in the city.
